One of my favorite things about senior sessions is creating a gallery that feels completely unique to each senior, and Abby’s session was the perfect example of that. She knew she wanted a mix of urban and nature-inspired backdrops, which made planning her session so much fun.
The best part? Abby actually booked with me after seeing a recent session I photographed at the Upper St. Clair Rec Center. She completely fell in love with the location, and honestly, I do not blame her. It is one of those hidden gem spots that becomes absolutely magical during golden hour.
We started her session at The Highline to capture the more urban side of her vision. Since her session took place in the fall, her outfits fit the season perfectly. She wore jeans paired with an orange top and a white vest, which looked so good against the city backdrop and warm autumn tones. The whole look felt stylish, cozy, and very “fall senior session” in the best way possible.
Abby also wanted to include photos announcing her college decision, which I always love incorporating into sessions because it makes the images feel even more personal and meaningful. She changed into her college tee, and we used a college flag prop for some fun announcement photos that celebrated such an exciting milestone in her life.
After finishing downtown, we headed to Upper St. Clair Recreation Center for the second half of her session, and this is where the golden hour magic really showed up.
Her long green dress was absolutely perfect for the location. The movement of the dress paired with the soft sunset light filtering through the trees created the dreamiest images. Then she switched into a classic white dress, which gave the session such a timeless and elegant feel.

One of the reasons I love this location so much is the tree line. As the sun drops behind the trees, the light still peeks through just enough to create the prettiest golden glow. It gives photos this soft, warm look that feels almost magical, especially in the fall.
Another thing that made Abby’s session extra special was having both of her parents there. I always love when families are able to experience the full session together. Senior year is such a huge milestone, and it is really meaningful getting to watch parents soak in these moments alongside their senior.
The entire evening felt relaxed, fun, and genuine, which is exactly how I want every senior session to feel. Abby’s vision came together so beautifully, and I loved getting to create a gallery that captured both her personality and such an exciting season of life.
Abby, thank you for trusting me with your senior photos. Your session was absolutely beautiful from start to finish 🤍
