Some senior sessions are beautiful because of the outfits or the lighting. Others are special because of the meaning behind the location. Alejandra’s session at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve was one of those sessions that felt meaningful from the very beginning.
Both of her parents came along for the session, which I always love, but this location made the experience even more personal for their family. They chose Beechwood Farms because it is a place they visit every Mother’s Day for a picnic and a day together as a family. I absolutely love when seniors choose locations that already hold memories because it makes the photos feel even more connected to this season of life.
And honestly, this location deserves more attention than it gets. It is not one of the super popular Pittsburgh photo locations, but it is such a hidden gem. One of the best things about it is how much variety it offers all within a small area. You have florals, greenery, rustic architecture, walking paths, and so many beautiful little tucked-away spots that photograph so well without needing to travel all over the place.
Alejandra started the session in the cutest casual outfit with jeans that had adorable pink bows paired with a matching pink top. It was fun, youthful, and perfect for the softer garden-inspired areas around the reserve. The pink details added such a playful touch to the photos and fit her personality so well.
Later in the session, she changed into a stunning floral maxi dress that completely transformed the feel of the gallery. Honestly, this dress was a total showstopper. The movement of the fabric paired with the greenery and warm evening light made every image feel soft, elegant, and timeless.
One of my favorite things about Alejandra’s session was how relaxed the entire evening felt. We explored different little corners of the property, laughed through poses, and simply enjoyed the experience together. Having both parents there made it feel even more special because you could tell how much these memories meant to all of them.
That is one of the things I love most about senior sessions. They are not just about taking photos for a yearbook. They are about capturing a season of life that moves by so quickly. The locations, the outfits, the little traditions families hold onto, all of it becomes part of the story.
Alejandra’s session felt personal, joyful, and full of meaning from beginning to end, and I am so honored I got to capture it for her family 🤍
